Pony Club Australia is committed to ensuring that everyone involved with Pony Club® is treated with respect and dignity and is protected from abuse, bullying, harassment, sexual misconduct, unlawful discrimination, victimisation, and vilification.
The Member Protection Policy seeks to ensure that everyone involved in Pony Club® is aware of their rights and responsibilities. This Policy sets out the standards of behaviour expected of those involved in Pony Club® and the behaviours that are not acceptable (‘Prohibited Conduct’).

Pony Club Australia has a zero-tolerance policy to abusive and inappropriate behaviour in any form. This Policy sets out the standards of behaviour expected of those involved in Pony Club® and the behaviours that are not acceptable (‘Prohibited Conduct’). All levels of Pony Club are required to ensure they work to comply with the standards set in this policy.
MEMBER PROTECTION INFORMATION OFFICER (MPIO) TRAINING
Member Protection Information Officers play an important role in sport. They provide information and guidance on complaints procedures – they are the ‘go-to’ person if you want to discuss problems at your club or zone, particularly if you are considering making a formal complaint.
The Member Protection Information Officer course is run in two parts an online course and then a face-to-face session. Individuals seeking to know more about member protection should do the E-Learning course. Individuals wanting to become a qualified Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) must do both the online and face to face courses.

MEMBER PROTECTION TRAINING COURSES
The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) have created a hub of training courses to help club administrators gain knowledge and skills in many areas. The training is free and can be recorded on the JustGo database as a credential. Courses that will help with Member Protection include:

- Child Safeguarding in Sport Induction Course (required training for club administrators and coaches)
- PBTR* – Child Protection and Safeguarding
- PBTR* – Harassment and Discrimination
- PBTR* – Complaint Handling
- PBTR* – Inclusive Coaching
- PBTR* – Mini Course – Let Kids be Kids
- PBTR* – LGBTI+ Inclusive Club
- Pony Club Inclusive Coach Training (2CDP for completion)
*PBTR is “Play by the Rules” free online training for club administrators, coaches, officials and members.
e-SAFETY COMMISSON
For resources regarding online behaviour and how to complain if you feel bullied, harassed or discriminated by online behaviour.
PONY CLUB INCLUSIVE COACH TRAINING
Pony Club is committed to providing an inclusive environment for individuals to learn about riding and taking care of their horses. This training will help coaches to understand how they can support riders with a disability to participate fully in the Pony Club program. Coaches who complete this training can account 2CD points to help maintain their qualifications.
RIDER WITH SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS EXEMPTION APPLICATION FORM
Pony Club is committed to assisting riders to fully immerse themselves in the Pony Club program and create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all. Riders who require special equipment or consideration to enable them to fully experience Pony Club can apply for an Exemption for Special Requirements.
