Turlinjah Park Equestrian Centre is proud to announce its official accreditation as a Pony Club Australia (PCA) Accredited Riding Centre. This exciting milestone brings new opportunities for local riders of all ages and abilities to enjoy top-tier equestrian coaching in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Owned and operated by Michelle Nickson, a highly qualified equestrian coach, Turlinjah Park is set to become a hub for horse enthusiasts in the region. Michelle holds multiple qualifications, including Pony Club Australia Level 1 Coach, Equestrian Australia Introductory Coach, and Riding for the Disabled (RDA) coach, ensuring that riders receive expert instruction tailored to their individual needs and goals.

Turlinjah Park Equestrian Centre is situated on a picturesque 25-acre property, offering top-quality facilities for riders. The centre boasts a 30 x 60 metre fully lit arena, a mounting and viewing platform, as well as stables and yards accommodating up to 25 horses. Additionally, the centre is in the process of rebuilding its cross-country course, expanding the range of disciplines and experiences available to riders.

The centre prides itself on catering to riders of all ages and abilities, including adult riders and riders with disabilities. Turlinjah Park offers weekly lessons that cover a broad range of activities, from traditional equestrian disciplines like dressage and showjumping to more dynamic pursuits such as mounted games, polocrosse, and trail riding. Their lessons also incorporate musical rides, pole work, sporting, versatility courses, and cross-country training, ensuring that riders develop a well-rounded skill set.

During the school holidays, Turlinjah Park hosts an array of exciting programs, including beginner days, gymkhana days, horsemanship days, and the ever-popular “Own a Pony” days. These holiday activities provide a fantastic opportunity for riders to immerse themselves in the world of equestrian sports, learn new skills, and have fun in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Joining Michelle on the coaching team is her daughter, Madeline Nickson, who is also a dedicated and skilled instructor. Madeline is a Preliminary National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) coach and an accredited Pony Club Australia Gear Checker, ensuring both riders and horses meet safety and equipment standards. Together, they bring a wealth of experience and a passion for teaching horsemanship, which is at the core of Turlinjah Park’s mission.

Michelle Nickson shared her vision for Turlinjah Park, stating, “Our mission is to provide riders with a safe and fun learning environment where they can develop valuable skills in horsemanship and horse welfare. We want to help our riders grow in confidence and eventually have the ability to own and care for their own horses.”

With its accreditation from Pony Club Australia, Turlinjah Park Equestrian Centre is now well-positioned to further its mission of promoting responsible horsemanship, equestrian education, and inclusivity. The centre’s dedicated team and exceptional facilities make it an exciting destination for equestrians from across the South Coast.
