Show Riding
Show Riding encompasses gymkhana and show events where horse and rider showcase their skills on the flat.
In these competitions, horses are judged on their conformation, paces, and manners, while riders are evaluated on their riding ability. Some classes emphasise grooming and presentation, highlighting the overall appearance and turnout of horse and rider. Competitors can participate as individuals, pairs, or teams of three, demonstrating their proficiency and teamwork in various show classes.
What Opportunities Do I Have?
Pony Club® members have numerous opportunities to engage in Show Riding at different levels, from local shows to regional and national competitions. Riders can participate in individual classes to display their riding skills and horse’s attributes, or join pairs and team classes for a more collaborative experience.
These events offer a platform to refine riding techniques, improve horse presentation, and gain valuable feedback from judges. Additionally, Show Riding provides a chance to build camaraderie with fellow riders, develop sportsmanship, and enjoy the beauty and elegance of equestrian sport.

Once you’ve agreed on next steps, return to the PCA website and create a profile on our JustGo membership portal. From there, select your club or centre, request to join, and once approved, select and purchase your membership.
