Sports Activities
Equitation
Equitation encompasses various disciplines focused on the art and skill of horseback riding, emphasising the rider’s technique, balance, and communication with the horse.
It includes disciplines like Working Equitation and Jumping Equitation, each offering unique challenges and opportunities for riders to refine their equestrian abilities.

Working Equitation
Working Equitation originated in Southern Europe and has evolved into a global sport that simulates practical farm and livestock skills. Competitions typically involve four phases:
- Dressage: A precise test of the horse’s obedience and the rider’s control, focusing on executing prescribed movements with elegance and precision.
- Ease of Handling Obstacles: Judges assess the rider’s ability to navigate obstacles with finesse and accuracy.
- Speed Obstacles: A timed event where riders negotiate obstacles at speed, showcasing agility and quick decision-making.
- Cattle Work (optional): In some events, riders demonstrate their ability to work with livestock, reflecting traditional ranching skills.
Jumping Equitation
Jumping Equitation is a variation of showjumping where riders are evaluated not only on their ability to clear obstacles cleanly but also on their riding position, balance, and overall presentation.
Judges provide constructive feedback on the rider’s performance, focusing on aspects such as leg position, seat, hand control, rhythm, and approach to jumps.

What Opportunities Do I Have?
