Do you love Pony Club and enjoy putting your equestrian knowledge to the test? This could be your opportunity to represent Pony Club Australia on the international stage – without leaving Australia!
The 2026 Pony Club International Alliance (PCIA) International Virtual Quiz, hosted by New Zealand Pony Clubs, will bring together teams from Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States for a live online competition celebrating equestrian knowledge, teamwork, culture and international Pony Club friendships.
When is it?
Sunday 4 October 2026
Australian competition start times:
- Queensland – 5:00 am AEST
- New South Wales, Victoria & Tasmania – 6:00 am AEDT
The competition will run for approximately 3–3.5 hours, so applicants must be available for the full live event.
Who can apply?
Applicants must:
- Be a current financial Pony Club member
- Be at least 16 years of age and under 26 years as at 31 July 2026
Hold a minimum C Certificate - Be available to participate in the full live competition on 4 October
Australia will select an official team of four competitors plus one reserve, with one competitor appointed as Team Captain.
What will you be tested on?
The competition combines an Individual Quiz and Team Quiz, covering a broad range of Pony Club and equestrian knowledge.
Topics include breeds, equestrian disciplines, teeth and farriery, breeding and reproduction, feeding and nutrition, horse care, conformation, safety, famous equestrians, pasture management and more.
The Australian Team will also prepare a short Country Showcase, introducing themselves, Pony Club Australia and a little of our Australian culture to fellow Pony Club members around the world.
How does it work?
The event will be conducted live using Microsoft Teams, Kahoot and Google Forms.
Where possible, the Australian competitors will participate together from one suitable location.
Cost: $75 per selected team member, which includes a Pony Club Australia team polo shirt.
Additional Australian Team uniform items will also be available to purchase.
