JustGo Card Surcharges to End from September 17

Advice

Pony Club states, territory associations and clubs will need to review their JustGo membership, event and product pricing ahead of upcoming changes to card surcharges.

The Reserve Bank of Australia has announced that surcharging on eftpos, Mastercard and Visa payments will end from 1 October 2026. In preparation for this change, JustGo will disable domestic card surcharges on Thursday, 17 September 2026.

From that date, members purchasing memberships, entering events or making other payments through JustGo will pay the advertised price, without an additional card surcharge added at checkout.

What does this mean for you?

States, territory associations and clubs that currently recover payment processing costs through a card surcharge will need to decide whether to:

  • absorb those costs; or
  • incorporate them into membership fees, event entry fees or product prices.

Administrators are encouraged to review their pricing and payment arrangements before 17 September and make any necessary updates.

The RBA conclusions paper provides further information about the national changes.

Pony Club Australia will also email JustGo administrators directly with guidance on reviewing and updating fees within the platform.
