The 2025 Pony Club Tasmania State Dressage and Jumping Championships took place over the weekend of 5–6 April at the Westbury Showground, bringing together 100 riders and 120 horses from across the state for a spirited and successful two days of competition. Congratulations to all who qualified and took part!
Saturday – Dressage & Musical Rides
Saturday featured a full day of Dressage, with riders showcasing their training across all levels, including the ever-popular Quadrille and Musical Ride events. These team performances brought colour, creativity and camaraderie to the arena, with strong crowd support and plenty of fun.
Sunday – Jumping Equitation & Showjumping
Sunday’s focus shifted to Jumping Equitation and Showjumping, where gusty winds and intermittent rain added to the challenge. Despite the tricky conditions, the event ran smoothly with not a single fall recorded — a testament to the skill and sportsmanship of both horses and riders.
Innovation in Action
For the first time, the Championships were fully electronically scored using Nominate Livescoring across both dressage and showjumping. A special thanks to Shevaun Mackenzie for coordinating the new system, which brought a fresh level of professionalism and real-time updates to the competition.
Gratitude and Acknowledgements
A huge thank you to the Northern Zone team for hosting and organising the event on behalf of Pony Club Tasmania. Their dedication and attention to detail ensured a well-run and memorable championship. Sincere thanks also go to the many volunteers, officials, and photographers who gave their time and talents to make the event possible.
