A National Stage for Emerging Equestrian Talent
The Pony Club Australia National Championships are the pinnacle of Pony Club competition, bringing together more than 300 competitors and their horses, along with coaches, families, officials and supporters from every state and territory.
Competitors represented their clubs and states across:
Dressage
Showjumping
Eventing
Tetrathlon
Mounted Games
Quiz
Formal Gymkhana
The Championships showcased not only athletic ability, knowledge and horsemanship, but also the values at the heart of Pony Club: community, innovation, integrity, accessibility, kindness and horse welfare.
A Venue That Feels Like Home
The iconic Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre once again provided a world-class environment for competition and connection, supported by a bustling trade village and the welcoming Riders’ Lounge, proudly sponsored by Racing Victoria.
Beyond the Competition Arena
Education and engagement sat at the heart of this year’s Nationals, thanks to the generous support and leadership of Ranvet, who delivered a comprehensive program designed to inspire learning, welfare awareness and community connection.
The Ranvet education and entertainment program featured:
A masterclass by Jessica & Kody Dertell (Future Farms)
Polocrosse Victoria demonstration match and interactive education sessions
The inaugural Nationals Hobby Horse Championship (EQ Saddlery x LeMieux) — a fun and spirited addition that brought laughter and creativity to the arena
Daily expert talks on equine nutrition, welfare, hoof care, veterinary science, tack fitting and training principles
Competitors were also invited to take part in a passport-style learning challenge, collecting stamps for attending educational sessions and earning entries into a major prize draw — encouraging active participation and rewarding commitment to knowledge and horse welfare.
This emphasis on learning, curiosity and horse-centred care reflected the best of Pony Club’s values, and added a vibrant layer of connection and inspiration to the Championships.
