Foundation Coach Accreditation
BECOMING A FOUNDATION COACH
Pony Club Australia has introduced the PCANCAS Foundation Coach as the first step in the PCA Coaching system. It is an introductory coaching course for parents, volunteers and members who want to start their coaching journey.
WHO CAN BECOME A FOUNDATION COACH?
The pre requisites to become a Foundation Coach are:
- Be a current member of Pony Club Australia
- Be 16 years or over to commence
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, a current Working with Children certificate for your state
The Gear Checker Accreditation is a compulsary pre-requisite to become a PCANCAS Foundation coach . Find out more information on Gear Checking here.
STEP ONE:
Order the PCA Foundation Coach Manual by logging into your JustGo member profile. Click on the “Events, Courses & Shop” tab at the top of the page, then scroll down to find the Pony Club Australia Shop. An email with the Foundation Coach workbook will also be sent to you.
STEP TWO:
Find a current PCANCAS Level 1 Coach who can assess you in your state.
TIP: Check with Chief Instructor, Zone Chief Instructor or State Office if you need a contact
STEP THREE:
Work with your Level 1 Coach assessor to log 10 hours of mentored coaching
STEP FOUR:
Book in with your Level 1 Coach to complete the Foundation Coach written assessment. You will also need to upload your Working with Children check and mentored coaching hours log.
STEP FIVE:
Book in a time with your Level 1 Coach assessor to complete your practical assessment.
STEP SIX:
Once approved, your JustGo profile will be updated with the credential (under the rosette icon online) and an email automatically sent. Your club, zone and state will also be able to see the credential under your JustGo profile. Congratulations!
