Why does Pony Club still matter?
It’s a question I recently explored in an interview with international dressage judge and trainer Isobel Wessels – and the answer speaks volumes. Pony Club continues to matter because it develops capable riders, thoughtful horse people and confident young leaders through structured education and genuine community.
We see that reflected in real achievement. Adeline Collins earning her A Certificate after a 23-year journey. Asha Fiedler discovering that her B Certificate was far more than “just a badge.” These milestones highlight the strength of our pathways – and the long-term value of the Pony Club experience.
In 2026, our marketing and communications focus is about building on that foundation -strengthening how we connect, communicate and support both current and future members.
Staying Connected
With social media restrictions now in place for under 16s, we’ve introduced a dedicated weekly email for members aged 16 and under to ensure they remain connected to Pony Club nationally.
If you haven’t seen it yet, keep an eye out. Each edition includes Pony of the Week, educational content and positive stories designed to inspire young members beyond their local rally day.
Membership Renewal & Growth
In the lead-up to membership renewal, you’ll notice an increased Pony Club presence across digital channels. This is a key time to retain current members and help new families find and connect with their nearest club.
Clear messaging, improved website pathways and targeted digital campaigns are all working together to make it easier for prospective members to understand what Pony Club offers – and how to get involved.
Campaigns & Resources
Our coordinated national campaigns will continue highlighting the best parts of Pony Club. You may have already seen posts celebrating just how fun Pony Club is – clubs are encouraged to share or adapt these posts to attract new members and families.
Upcoming campaigns will spotlight proficiency certificate pathways, coaching pathways, Accredited Riding Centres, positive club culture and more.
We’re also continuing to redevelop our Discipline of the Month guides. The refreshed Polocrosse and Quiz guides are now live, with Dressage coming next.
Together, these initiatives are about ensuring Pony Club remains visible, understood and valued – so more families can discover why Pony Club continues to make a difference.
