Get ready to compete against riders from across the globe — without leaving your own Pony Club grounds! The 2025 PCIA Virtual Jumping Equitation Competition is returning soon, offering Pony Club Australia members the chance to represent their country in this international online event.
What is it?
A global virtual equitation competition for active, compliant members of PCIA-affiliated Pony Clubs. Riders film and submit their round from home, and entries are judged on equitation — not the horse’s performance. No travel required, just your horse, your arena, and a camera.
Who can enter?
Open to all current Pony Club Australia member
- No minimum certificate level required
- Riders may enter up to two height classes
- A maximum of five Australian riders per class will be selected
- Classes:
Class 1: Trot Pole - Class 2: 30cm
- Class 3: 50cm
- Class 4: 70cm
- Class 5: 90cm
- Class 6: 105cm
A simple course plan will be provided (requiring minimal equipment), and any surface is allowed. Arena size should be approximately 80 x 50m.
Judging criteria:
This is a jumping equitation competition — riders will be assessed on:
- Position and posture
- Effectiveness of aids
- Rhythm and smoothness
- Overall control and presentation
It’s one jumping round, not against the clock. Videos must be recorded from a set judge’s position with clear, unedited footage (see full video rules when entries open).
Key Dates:
- 5 September 2025 – Entries close and video upload opens
- 30 September 2025 – Video upload closes and judging begins
- 20 October 2025 – Results announced
Awards:
- 1st to 6th place in each class
- Digital certificate for all participating riders
