Values Awards

Pony Club® is more than just riding—it’s about shaping a better future together, caring for horses, and including everyone along the way.

That’s why we’ve introduced three national Values Awards. These awards aren’t about competition; they’re about recognising our members who make a difference in sustainability, inclusion, and horse welfare. They’re open all year, celebrating those who contribute to our community in meaningful ways.

Community Captains understand and respect others’ perspectives, skills, and ambitions, fostering a safe, valued, and inclusive environment within Pony Club.

They actively unite people for the betterment of the community and embody the spirit that unites Pony Clubs worldwide. The PCA Community Captain recognition award honours members who exemplify these qualities through impactful projects, activities, or innovations that go beyond typical expectations. Examples include creating support groups, virtual connections, multilingual resources, and initiatives to enhance inclusivity and community outreach.

The PCA Welfare Warrior Award honours a member who prioritises horse health and wellbeing, either through significant actions during a notable event or by leading projects that improve mental and physical welfare.  These efforts span areas like nutrition, health, environment, behaviour, and human interaction, going beyond standard expectations for Pony Club Australia® members. Examples include disseminating innovative welfare education, creating resources, improving facilities, and addressing barriers to better horse welfare. Recognised activities benefit multiple horses directly or indirectly within the Pony Club® community.
Pony Club Australia®, the longest-running equestrian organisation in the country, champions Sustainability Champions who spearhead projects ensuring long-term environmental and social sustainability.  This award honours members who significantly advance sustainability within Pony Club® and broader equestrian activities, showcasing their impact through specific projects or innovations in environmental or social sustainability efforts. The PCA Sustainability Champion award recognises extraordinary efforts beyond standard expectations. Environmental sustainability initiatives include protecting watercourses, implementing waste recycling strategies, and promoting sustainable practices on club grounds and shared-use trails. Social sustainability projects foster positive community relationships and advocate for the benefits of equine involvement in local settings.
