The Inter-Pacific Exchange (IPE) is returning in 2025, offering a prestigious international opportunity for Pony Club members to represent Australia on the world stage. This biennial event brings together riders from Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and the USA for an unforgettable experience of competition, cultural exchange, and international friendships.
2025 Event Details
- Dates: 21 September – 5 October 2025
- Location: Hosted in Australia, starting in Sydney and finishing in Melbourne
Competition Format
Riders will compete in a series of challenging and exciting events, including:
- Horse Trials (Kangaroo Trophy) – Dressage, Cross Country, and Show Jumping. Teams are scrambled, meaning each team consists of one rider from each participating country, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Team Showjumping (Goodwill Trophy) – National teams compete under Nations Cup rules, showcasing high-level jumping talent.
- Host Country Special Event – To be confirmed (past events have included Polocrosse and Tetrathlon).
Selection & Eligibility
Applications for the 2025 IPE close on March 18, 2025.
To be considered for this elite event, riders need to meet the following criteria:
- Pony Club Australia members aged 17–26 (as of 1 January 2025)
- B Certificate holders
- Showjumping experience at 1.10m and Eventing experience at 1.00m preferred
- Proven ability to ride a variety of horses, including green or inexperienced mounts
