The Pony Club Australia China Exchange is a unique international opportunity that combines riding, cultural immersion and connection with riders from a very different environment.
Delivered in partnership with China Pony Club, the exchange gives selected riders the chance to experience Pony Club in China while representing Australia in a supportive, team-based setting.
What is the China Exchange?
The China Exchange is designed to broaden riders’ perspectives, both in and out of the saddle.
Each exchange includes a mix of:
- Riding and competition with local Pony Club riders
- Training and horse experience in a new environment
- Cultural activities and sightseeing
- Opportunities to connect with host riders, families and communities
While competition is part of the program, the focus is on learning, adaptability and shared experience.
The Experience
Exchanges are typically based across multiple venues, offering riders exposure to different facilities, horses and conditions.
Riders:
- Ride unfamiliar horses and adapt to new environments
- Train and compete alongside Chinese riders within a Pony Club framework
- Experience daily life, food and culture in China
- Travel as a team, building strong connections along the way
The experience is immersive, fast-paced and designed to challenge riders in a positive, supported environment.
Riding and Competition

Competitions are generally accessible in height and format, allowing riders to focus on:
