Best Achievement by a Rider Aged Over 25 Years

Lisa Streeter, a passionate horsewoman with lifelong experience, joined the Maryborough and District Horse and Pony Club (MDHPC) as an adult riding member in 2022.

At 61, Lisa has embraced her Pony Club journey with enthusiasm, fulfilling a childhood dream to join the club. Since becoming a member, she has been an active participant, traveling 120 kilometers round trip to attend rallies and always eager to engage in every activity, from dressage and show jumping to games and cross-country.

Lisa’s dedication to improving her riding skills is evident through her commitment to the Pony Club syllabus, working diligently toward completing her C certificate by early 2025. She listens attentively to her coaches and frequently attends clinics and training days to further her education. In addition, Lisa has embarked on her Prelim coaching journey, with plans to undergo her coaching assessment in 2025.

Known for her warm and generous nature, Lisa goes above and beyond for her fellow club members. She graciously leased one of her well-trained appaloosa mares to a senior rider at MDHPC who had lost confidence in herself and whose horse had become unsound—doing so out of pure kindness and without expecting anything in return. Her actions reflect the strong sense of community and camaraderie that Lisa values within Pony Club, which she often describes as being part of a big family.

A PCV Registered Coach at Rokewood Pony Club, Lisa also coaches at MDHPC whenever she’s available. Her dedication extends beyond the arena, as she consistently volunteers at working bees and is always among the first to assist with set-up and pack-up at rallies.

In recognition of her efforts and accomplishments, Lisa won the prestigious PCV 2023 Award for best achievement by a rider over 25 years. She continues to be a positive force in Pony Club, exemplifying the values of lifelong learning and support for her fellow riders.
