Best Achievement by a Rider Aged 13 – 17 Years
Charlotte, a dedicated member of Huntingfield Pony & Riding Club, rarely misses a rally—only ever skipping one if she’s attending another horse event.
A true team player, Charlotte eagerly participates in every opportunity that comes her way, including State Eventing Championships (Grade 2), State Dressage Championships (Grade 2), State Jumping Championships (Grade 2), and Zone Games A Division, where she has qualified for State Games two years in a row. She also competes in One Day Events, Spring Shows, the Royal Hobart Show (as part of the show jumping team and individual), and supports other local clubs like “Huon Hoofbeats” and Show Jumping Tasmania. As a committee member at Huon Hoofbeats and a member of the Huntingfield Junior Committee, Charlotte is not only dedicated to her riding but also to contributing fun social activities for club members, always participating with enthusiasm and creativity—especially at Halloween and Christmas rallies.
Charlotte’s perseverance over the past few years is truly inspiring. After failing to qualify for the State Eventing Championships two years in a row due to her horse’s difficulty with water obstacles, Charlotte remained undeterred. Her positive attitude, combined with extra training, saw her overcome this challenge and finally qualify for the Trials at Grade 2, where she finished 8th. Her commitment to improving her skills shines through her consistent clear rounds in both jumping disciplines and her mid-sixties scores in dressage.
Quiet and humble, Charlotte leads by example. She has taken on a leadership role with the Games A team, organizing training sessions, transporting younger riders and gear, and coaching. Her kindness, organizational skills, and unwavering support of her teammates set her apart as a true role model for younger riders. Charlotte’s actions speak louder than words, and she is a fantastic example of leadership in the pony club environment.
Charlotte also epitomizes the spirit of club citizenship. No matter the weather, she and her parents are always among the first to set up arenas for events. Whether it’s calling dressage tests for nervous junior riders, tacking up horses, or lending a calming word of advice, Charlotte is always there to help. She’s equally active at working bees and enjoys helping coach and mentor younger riders. Together with her father, she even built a new arena fence for Huon Hoofbeats, showing her dedication to both her club and her community.
Though she sometimes flies under the radar, Charlotte is a quiet achiever who deserves recognition not only for her personal accomplishments but also for her outstanding character. She may not always be on the podium, but she is an exceptional role model, a dedicated club citizen, and a kind and caring rider.
