Best Achievement by a Rider Aged Over 25 Years
- Aleisha Guest, Huntingford Pony & Riding Club (TAS)
Aleisha Guest has been an integral member of Huntingfield Pony Club for the past 15 years, dedicating her time and energy to enhancing the experience for both adult and junior riders.
As the Adult Riders Rally Organizer and Membership Coordinator, Aleisha ensures that every rally runs smoothly, from booking instructors to organizing groups. Her leadership and enthusiasm have made her a driving force behind the club’s adult riding program, encouraging participation in events and helping members feel connected to the broader Pony Club community.
Aleisha’s contributions to the club extend far beyond organizing rallies. As a committee member, she is known for her proactive and hands-on approach, always the first to volunteer for any task—whether it’s coordinating grounds bookings, overseeing equipment repairs, or arranging working bees. Her boundless energy is evident in her involvement in every aspect of club life, from setting up and decorating for events to harrowing the arenas weekly and preparing courses. Her expertise as a “jump dresser” is renowned, making every course in the Southern Zone a standout.
In addition to her administrative and organizational roles, Aleisha is deeply involved in the club’s coaching and rider development efforts. She regularly assists at junior rallies, guiding young riders through the Pony Club syllabus and helping them work toward their proficiency certificates. She is also in the process of designing a “Working Equitation” obstacle course to improve riders’ understanding of groundwork, horse control, and safe riding practices.
As a rider, Aleisha’s skills continue to grow, and she ensures that the coaches she engages for adult rallies are well-versed in the Pony Club syllabus. Her dedication to the club’s adult riding program is mirrored by her involvement as a “pony club mum,” supporting her daughter Marni at rallies and events. Despite her many responsibilities, Aleisha never uses her role as a parent to excuse herself from pitching in—whether it’s helping with costumes for the musical ride or building jumps for the cross-country course.
Aleisha’s extraordinary commitment to Huntingfield Pony Club, her tireless work ethic, and her unwavering support for both riders and the club’s operations make her an invaluable asset. From coordinating uniforms to ensuring the quad bike is serviced, Aleisha does it all, embodying the spirit of community and teamwork that defines Pony Club.
